Today

I decided to take a ride to my dad's place via Featherbed Lane.

Much to my dismay, I didn't see any Bobolinks or meadowlarks. But once I reached the little creek, there was a lot of activity. Including a Forster's Tern flying around and a stalking Great Blue Heron. Also, two Red-tailed Hawks soaring with some smaller birds diving bombing them.

I took some photos of THREE different Canada Goose families. It's interesting to see that the goslings from each family are all at different stages.

I also got a couple shots of a kingbird which was perched right above me. It didn't seem bothered by me at all. Unlike the geese, which, as you'll notice, were all walking or swimming AWAY from me.

Oops, didn't mean to scare them.

At my dad's farm, there was one Killdeer. A lot of grackles. Some Mallards that I scared off. Lots of kingbirds. An Ovenbird singing in the woods, along with a Yellow Warbler and a calling towhee.

I was hoping that the pond would be more active. I'm used to seeing more ducks and tons of swallows. No swallows were to be seen.

I did see lots of dragonflies and damselflies zooming around though. And a few butterflies.

Here are some of the birds.....

And damselflies....

And flowers and some really cool looking pond scum.....
